We are gathered here, this day, to celebrate the love of the
Lord in our lives. We have come together to celebrate Agape, to rejoice in His
love, and the love that we share for one another.
We read in Matthew's Gospel, that Jesus said: "If two of You on earth
agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to You by my Father in heaven.
For where two or three come together, in my name, I am with them."
We call on You now Lord, to keep Your promise, and to be here, among us, and
within us.
These things we ask of our Father: May our work, be Your work; May our ministry
bring the light of Your Presence into our world; Please send the Holy Spirit to
guide us, to give us patience, perseverance and understanding; and may we
always live in the Peace and the Joy of Christ.
II The Blessing of the Bread and Wine
In this liturgy of Agape, we share bread and wine, as a symbol of our unity, -- with each other, and with Jesus, our Brother.
(PICK UP THE BREAD.) This bread we have to share, represents our oneness in Christ. It was once scattered over the land as separate grains of wheat, but now it has been brought together, and made into one loaf. We pray, as we share this bread, that we can become one people, gathered in love.
(PUT DOWN BREAD, PICK UP WINE.) This wine we have to share, the juice from many grapes, represents a cup of celebration. May our coming together, be a source of joy and hope, in our world.
(BEGIN TO SHARE THE BREAD.) Take and share this bread (ADD PERSONAL WORDS THAT SAY WHAT THE BREAD MEANS TO YOU.)
(QUIET MUSIC BEGINS.)
(BEGIN TO SHARE THE WINE.) Take and share this wine (ADD PERSONAL WORDS THAT SAY WHAT THE WINE MEANS TO YOU.)
(AFTER ALL ARE FED, AND QUIET MUSIC ENDS.)
Dear God, we thank You for Your presence in our lives.
We thank You, Father, for the devotion You show Your people.
We thank You, Jesus, for remaining close, in our hearts, this day, and every day.
We thank You, Holy Spirit, for Your continued guidance, and the strength You send us.
We pray that we may now be inspired to share Your love with all those we meet.
